Donate Materials

SAHA welcomes offers of materials relating to both past and contemporary struggles for justice in South Africa from both individuals and organisations. SAHA currently collects a broad range of print and digital materials, including research and legal records, correspondence, journals, still images, struggle posters, audio recordings and oral histories, T-shirts, personal mementoes and ephemera.

SAHA is mainly interested in collecting materials about issues and events that reflect the organisation's ongoing commitment to human rights, justice and accountability in South Africa, such as:

  • The struggle against apartheid
  • The South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission
  • Social movements in South Africa

SAHA is also concerned with recapturing lost and neglected histories in South Africa so materials that record attempts to capture ‘histories from below' of the making of democracy in South Africa are of particular interest.

Please contact Geraldine Frieslaar or archives@saha.org.za to discuss potential donations of materials.
