Abstract:	In December 1997 the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) issued former State President PW Botha with a subpoena in terms of Section 29 of the TRC enabling legislation to answer questions about the policies and activities of the State Security Council during the period of his presidency. The collection includes the records of proceedings of the case of The State v. PW Botha in its entirety as well as the court judgment relating to the subsequent appeal.
