Description: This is a transcript of the interview with Charles Madonko, conducted by Mary Ndlovu on 3 July 2011 for the South African History Archive (SAHA) as part of the Zenzo Nkobi oral history project. In his interview on ZAPU membership in Zambia, Charles Madonko describes his role as a ZAPU member in 1960’s recruiting and raising funds on the Copperbelt, and as a student in Hungary and Lusaka. He also mentions his role as a farmer growing food for camps and assisting in caching weapons and identifying the location of Mkushi Camp. The interview was transcribed by Mary Ndlovu.
