GALLERY: 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children

Adopted by South Africa in 1998, the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign runs from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day) each year and includes Universal Children’s Day and World AIDS Day.

SAHA reflects on this year's campaign with a selection of posters from its archives. These posters, produced from 1984 to 1997 before the adoption of the campaign, carry the same strong message and urgent call to end violence against women and children.
