SASHT 29th Annual Conference: 9-10 October 2015

The South African Society for History Teaching (SASHT) invites you to the 29th ANNUAL SOCIETY CONFERENCE hosted by the University of Limpopo School of Social Sciences and Department of Cultural and Political Studies

Conference Theme: Modern Modes of Assessment – Debating and Sharing

Sub-themes

  1. Assessment techniques for learning in the classroom situation;
  2. Revisiting taxonomies (skills) in the assessment of History;
  3. Infusing (broad organising) concepts for the study of History into assessment;
  4. Ways of applying technology in assessment efforts;
  5. Debating the relevance of assessment;
  6. Revisiting the value or flaws of traditional and/or modernised forms of assessment;
  7. Creative ways in assessing historical time, timelines and/or maps;
  8. Rubric developments to assess assessments;
  9. Utilising and assessing local and regional histories in the CAPS-context;
  10. What should be assessed?;
  11. Successful ways to study History for days of assessments;
  12. Critically reviewing the assessment level of Grade 12 national exams in South Africa;
  13. Any other History-related topic.

Full conference attendance:
