This poster is silkscreened red, yellow and blue, produced at STP by the ECC, Johannesburg. This poster advertised for the release of the compilation album 'Forces Favourites' in conjunction with Shifty Records, 1985. The text reads: "FORCES FAVOURITES : 11 bands play against the Call-up : RECORD TAPE" This poster was digitised by Specialised Archival Solutions in 2009. Reproduced in "Images of Defiance: South African Resistance posters in the 1980s" on page 165 (number 296) of the 1991 SAHA / Ravan Press edition and the 2004 SAHA / STE Publishers edition. It has also been included in the SAHA virtual exhibition 'What you won't hear on the radio' developed to mark the 30th birthday of Shifty Records and the 25th anniversary of the Voƫlvry tour. |
