In response to a PAIA request by SAHA to the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) relating to an AGSA investigation into De Beers and the export of uncut diamonds, AGSA responded that De Beers as the third party had requested that no documents be released.
Following this, De Beers contacted SAHA independently and offered a series of documents as an attempt to appease the request (though these documents do not clearly match the original request).
It is the documents provided directly by De Beers that appear in this archive. They relate mainly to Diamond Board exemptions provided to De Beers relating to the export of uncut diamonds, and a 1998 agreement between the Diamond Board and De Beers corporation.
